My life thus far...
Okay here is post 2 in my blogalong with Effy Wild, sorry it is a bit late.

Today I am going to talk about my heart. I am a serious dreamer, but I come from a past that isn't all roses. My mom had a stroke at the age of 32, which happens to be the age I am now. I was 9 years old when it happened, which happens to be the age of my oldest daughter now. The stroke left her left side parylised. I was her caregiver, and I have to admit I wasn't a good one, but who at the age of 9 could be a great caregiver? It turned into me being in more of the parental roll. I took her everywhere, we were bus bound, if she needed to go to the doctor's office guess who got to miss school? My mom and dad were never married, so I only saw him once or twice a year, sometimes I would go up for a week in the summer, but he lived like 3 hours away from us, so it wasn't very often. My mom's mom died a few years earlier of cancer. And her dad hardly ever came around so it really was just me, my older sister and my mom, but my sister never really helped. My mom taught me how to cook, I think I have surpassed her expertise a long time ago. My mom was not a healthy person, she smoked 2 packs of ciggerettes every day, she was an alchoholic. She ate unhealthy too. All she really did was sit and read her books or watch tv, or both. The tv was always on. I found out after she died that she was also very depressed, and just didn't enjoy life. I spent most of my teenager years very depressed, I felt trapped, and I had some unhealthy relationships with older guys, that did not help matters at all. It wasn't until I met my husband that I really began enjoying life. And then when I started having kids that I really understood life. I am so lucky to be alive today, there were many days growing up where I just wanted to give up, I am glad I didn't.

Why I love art
Okay so here I am on the first day of Effy Wild's blogalong
https://effy-wild.squarespace.com/blog/2013/8/1/blogalong-with-effy-130
Today I want to share with you why I love art, why I came to wanting to be an artist. So I have always loved art in all of it's many forms. When I was in middle school and high school I took pretty much every art class I could. I loved it! I never really thought I was that great at it, but I have always known that if I were to have a carreer it would be a creative one. Then I got married and had kids and didn't really do art for quite awhile. I did get into scrapbooking, which turned into digital scrapbooking, because there was no mess to clean up afterward. Then last year right before I found out I was pregnant with number 5, I found lifebook, and couldn't wait to sign up. I did, and then like a week later found out I was pregnant. I did the first lesson, and then started feeling sick with morning sickness, and believe me it was the worst morning sickness I had ever had, I was certain I must be having twins because there was no way I could be that sick with only one, well the ultrasound showed only 1 healthy baby. I had to go to the hospital 3 times in early pregnancy to get iv fluids, cause I couldn't keep anything down it sucked. The last time I went I actually had the swine flu on top of the morning sickness. Then after the morning sickness kind of went away, I started having sever pelvic pain and couldn't sit or stand for long. I spent most of the pregnany in my bed, it was really hard to anything. So ya no art got done. But after little Ava Gwenevere was born on 9-23-12 at 11:39 AM. Here she is the day she was born.

She was 7 lbs 14 ounces, and like 20 inches long, she was perfect. And I was finally able to get back to art, since I wasn't feeling sick anymore, or in pain. Here is some of my art that came out the first few months after she was born.

So I thought today I would take the opportunity to introduce my family to everyone, in case you don't know me personally. I have been married for 12 years this coming Sunday to this wonderful guy Bill.
We met when I was 19, and he was 27 dancing down in Eugene, OR. We were married 9 months after we met. And have been living in wedded bliss ever since, of course we have had our hard times, but our love for eachother has always gotten us through those tough patches. I count him as my soul mate, and am so happy be celabrating our 12th anniversary this year.
We have 5 kids together, our oldest is Serena Noelle, she was born 2 days before I turned 23. Here she is.
She is 9 years old, and looks the most like me, she is my mini me. She will be going into 4th grade this next year, I cannot believe how big she is getting. She is also a natural at the piano, she is totally self taught, but she only has to hear something and she can figure out how to play it on the piano.
My next daughter is Julia Elisabeth, she was born 21 months after Serena on my dad's birthday Nov. 11th 2005. Julia and Serena are best friends, most of the time. Here she is.

He just turned 6 years old, and looks alot like his daddy too. He also has autism which can be difficult. He has come a long way in the last year talking more, however he still wears a diaper, he refuses to use the toilet, and really this is my hardest obstacle right now with him. He is such a loving boy, and I could not imagine life without him.
Our next child was born 22 months after Gavin, and he was a surprise, we didn't find out the gender during pregnancy, and I really thought he was going to be a girl, so I was very surprised when he came out a boy. His name is Kenan Daniel, pronounced like Keenan. Here he is.
He is 4 and really smart. He did everything early, was rolling over at 2 months, crawling at 5 months, walking at 10 months, and I do not remember a time when he wasn't talking my ear off. He is a really special boy.
Our last child for now was born almost 3 and a half years after Kenan, ya we decided to take a little break. She was born on September 23rd 2012. Her pregnancy was the toughest on me, and so we are on the fence about adding 1 more child to our family, when we got married we wanted 6 children. Her name is Ava Gwenevere. Here she is.
She looks alot like Serena as a baby, and she is just a wonderful addition to our family, she has been my calmest baby so far, for which I am very greatful. Well I hope you enjoyed getting to know my family, here is one more pic of our whole family. And I appre

New Beginnings
I have tried having blogs before, but have never been able to get them to stick, I am not a very active poster. This time I hope to change that and to also get alot more followers. I am a 32 year old mother of 5 who also happens to love creating original mixed media works of art. I hope to begin an etsy business this year and start selling my orignal paintings and prints. I hope to share this journey with everyone that I can. Welcome to my blog!
